“My goodness, my hair loves this Foundation Shampoo and Conditioner. ‘Foundation’ is the appropriate name for this shampoo and conditioner, because it's truly the anchor to my routine—and I need a strong one because I put my hair through the wringer. I style it in all kinds of ways; naturally curly, blown-out straight, in a slick-back bun—the list goes on, and this duo ensures my hair is as healthy, happy, and hydrated as it can be. It literally makes my hair color richer, my curls more quenched, and my scalp feel fresh. With all the heat-styling I do, the moisture it delivers is key for me. The formulas are free of sulfates, silicones, and parabens, and I love that Rōz effectively balances the science and performance of haircare with a sense of ease and thoughtfulness. And that extends to the packaging, which is an aluminum bottle in the most beautiful shade of mint green meets blue slate. I could see those with thin or fine hair finding the conditioner slightly heavy, but the shampoo would be just fine. “My long hair is balayaged into a blend of gray and blonde—and it looks and feels so smooth when I use this shampoo and mask. It's not billed as a combo for color-treated hair, but it's gentle and moisturizing, so it certainly fits the bill. The shampoo suds up beautifully (I usually do two), and a dollop of the Foundation Mask is enough for my hair, which is currently almost-bra-strap-length (I comb it through, leave it in for a couple of minutes, then rinse). Why we love it: What does Jersey City, New Jersey-based hairstylist Kristina Macarro use on her thick, 2C–3A curls every single day? The Rōz Santa Lucia Styling Oil. “The gorgeous scent is the first thing anyone notices,” she says. Its California garden-inspired fragrance gives the Santa Lucia name some context, but smelling good is only part of its charm. “It's also the rare hair oil that does its job without being too greasy—whether you're air-drying or heat-styling—which isn't true of most of the oils on the market,” Macarro adds. The lightweight formula pairs olive, argan, jojoba, sunflower, and safflower oils with smoothing silicones to calm frizz and boost shine. “I use it on hair that needs moisture and polish but can't afford to flatten the texture,” she says. Smooth it through damp hair before styling or use a few drops on dry lengths for an extra hit of shine and polish. Bonus: It also acts as a heat protectant up to 450°F.

Why we love it: Rōz’s Wave Texturizing Mist is pretty self-explanatory by name, but its modern formula switches things up from the drying, gritty sprays you may have tried in the past.
